NorCham USA Presidents Council Convenes in Chicago

NorCham leaders from across the United States gathered in Chicago in September for the annual NorCham USA Presidents Council - an energizing two-day program of strategy sessions, member updates, and collaboration across chapters. The meetings were expertly hosted by NorCham Chicago President Matt Nygaard in close partnership with Susan Meyer, Honorary Consul of Norway to Illinois and Wisconsin.

During the council, participants met with Jo Sletbak, Norway’s Consul General in New York, Hege Vibeke Barnes, Managing Director at Innovation Norway Americas; and former U.S. Ambassador to Norway under President Clinton, Tom Loftus, who recently released his book Mission to Oslo. The conversations centered on strengthening transatlantic business ties, elevating visibility for Norwegian companies in key U.S. regions, and coordinating programming that benefits members nationwide.

While in Chicago, council attendees also joined the Kongsberg Discovery × NorCham Chicago reception held alongside OCEANS 2025, connecting with Norwegian companies exhibiting at the trade show. The event highlighted growing opportunities for Norwegian technology and maritime expertise across the Great Lakes and beyond.
